Side note: The entire company, including customer service, is wonderful. They're so gracious to all customers. One very lucky woman received Christian Louboutin's. I feel so blessed to be a member of a brand that treats their customers so well.
And now we can return to our regularly scheduled program.
I decided to try Joan, Rebel, and the Freedom Top Coat all in one shot. Rebel was the color I was the most excited for. The two colors, I knew, would look absolutely gorgeous together. Less than twelve hours than having the box, the colors were on.
Here is a shot of the full look. After the jump you can locate the actual reviews.
On my index and ring finger is the color "Rebel". As I said in my February unboxing post, it's named after Rebel Wilson. At the moment, she's one of my favorite people in the world. Wearing a color which uses her as an inspiration is incredible. It's one of my new favorite colors as well.
While sitting in a poorly lit area, it looked like a bland gray and I was severely disappointed.
Every ounce of disappointment dissipated once I got into an area that was lit better. Holographic colors are stunning! At first, I didn't know what to expect because I had no idea what those colors were like. It definitely lived up to my expectations and no photo, regardless of how high the quality is could ever do this polish justice. If anyone decided to purchase just one polish, I'd recommend that one in a heartbeat.
Joan, which was inspired was Joan Crawford, is darker than what I normally go for even though I'm trying to have a line of products with a different variety of shades. It did apply a little chunky, but I'm just thinking my coats were too thick.
Next time I try it, I'm going to apply thinner coats and hope that makes it apply a little thinner. It really reminds me of cranberries speckled with rose gold. My latest obsession is rose gold so the color was easy to fall in love with!
Last but certainly not least, is the Freedom Top Coat, which is pictured above. The photo is from the Julep website. I've been really in need on a base coat and a top coat. Instead of either of those, I've opted to use clear nail polish because I figured that would suffice until I got the proper products.
With this polish, you really need to wait until you color is completely dry and then apply it. If not, it'll chip easier and warp the polish you wore.
You get this gel-like feeling on your nails without any of the damage on your nails. It dries really quickly. Most of the wait time is probably because you have to wait for your color to dry before you can apply it. All it takes is three to five minutes for the polish; maybe less if you're really lucky!
If someone is thinking about trying any of this colors, or any Julep colors for that matter, I recommend it! Every color I've tried has been gorgeous! As always, feel free to ask any questions and let me know what colors are your favorites!
