"Lynn" By Julep Polish Review

January 25, 2013

On Christmas, which was a month ago today, I received an abundance of Julep products. My mother was kind enough to purchase a few of the items from my wishlist. One of those just happened to be the “Julep Darlings” collection. Polishes included in that collection are; “Vanessa“, “Lynn“, and “Sandra.” I haven’t tried Sandra yet, but the other two colors are gorgeous.

At the moment I’m wearing Lynn, which is absolutely stunning. Their swatches on the website – and my photo located below – don’t do the polish justice. It went on silky smooth and dried a vibrant, peachy color. There is the most subtle hint of glitter. In my opinion, it’s probably the kind of glitter you can see in extremely bright light. I had to use the flashlight from my iPhone 5 to see it.

Their website describes the color as “nude, blush pearl.” This definitely is a nude color, but does have some distinct peachy tones as well. As you can tell, it does reflect ‘blush pearl’ as stated in the description. For those that have tried this amazing color, how would you describe it?

Trying a new color is always a little frightening, believe me, I know, but this has applied beautifully. The brush almost looks a little frayed compared to some of my other polishes, but in a weird way, that seems to help the application go smoother. Perhaps other polishes have bad brushes and this is the good one. I’m not too sure either way.
Below is a shot of the other two polishes included in the Julep Darlings collection. There will be reviews posted for those two as well. Vanessa was almost put over Lynn, but I feel like it’s a gorgeous color on its own, so I wouldn’t want to damage the look you can see above. I put the color on my ring finger before applying the polish and it was just stunning. Most glittery polishes aren’t as beautiful as this one.

As for the pink you can see on my pink finger and even maybe my ring finger, that would be my favorite color “Lauren“. I was having some issues with it so that’s why I didn’t end up wearing that one. It was all clumpy even though I’ve only had it for a month. Lynn wasn’t troubling at all. After my difficulty with Lauren, I expected the latter to have the same issue. To my surprise, there weren’t any problems at all. I thought maybe I was just applying the polish too thick.
Out of ten, I’d easily give “Lynn” a nine. It’s such a beautiful color. Even though I’m wearing it during the winter, I can definitely see this making a beautiful spring or summer color. It reminds me of the pastels we see during the Easter season. Try out this polish and let me know what you all think of the color!
Look out for reviews of both Sandra and Vanessa in the future, as well as all the other colors I have! This definitely won’t be the last Julep post I make!
